War of 1812 Bicentennial Stamp First Day Cover: Defeat of HMS Java Cachet
In 2012, the United States Postal Service issued a stamp featuring one of the oldest images of the USS Constitution to commemorate the War of 1812. The USS Constitution Museum is presenting First Day Cover Cachets with both this year's bicentennial stamp and the 150th anniversary Constitution stamp issued in 1947. Measures 3 1/2" x 6 1/2."
This First Day Cover Cachet features features an image of Constitution victorious over the HMS Java. The reverse side describes the battle and its impact on how the British viewed the power of the US Navy.
