From ordinary sailors to commodores and captains’ wives, these individuals took to pen and paper to tell the stories that together help form Constitution’s legacy.

Read a vivid first-hand account of the victory over HMS Java in 1812 – dictated by Commodore William Bainbridge and sent to the Secretary of the Navy. Look through the pages of a 1797 almanack with hand-written notes on Constitution’s launch attempts into Boston harbor and see up close other exciting new acquisitions, including a writing box and implements used to send letters to loved ones away at sea.

7th Annual Rum Challenge

Vote for your favorite rum concoction as three local bartenders compete to take home top honors in the Privateer Rum Challenge and raise your glass in a toast to Constitution’s return to the water this summer.
